We leverage the knowledge and skills of our scientists and technicians through a rigorous yet vibrant approach to research and development. A significant part of our product line is continually replenished with new products as we continually strive to develop new solutions for our customers.
We maintain Exploratory, New Business and regional New Product Development Groups which are responsible for developing new products and applications for various flexible packaging market sectors, across the globe.
Our R&D facilities are equipped with pilot, semi-works, and laboratory testing equipment designed to provide efficient product development and materials research.
Product development often begins with research discoveries and advances in technology that are thoroughly evaluated in laboratories at our U.S. headquarters and in Europe. The focus then shifts to our Semi Works facility, where new product development continues on an orientation line that is one-third of the size of a production line. Finally, we scale up the new products on a full size line in a real production environment.
As part of our overall research and development efforts, we continually develop new manufacturing methods and upgrade our manufacturing technology. These advances are then deployed to our manufacturing plants as part of our ongoing commitment to product improvement.
