1960 Mobil Chemical Company was formed as Mobil Corporation and, through various subsidiaries, began to expand into petrochemicals - complementing its industrial and marine paint business. With expansions, acquisitions, and new investment, the original $7 million dollar investment is now a multi-billion dollar diversified business.
